Canada accused of 'complicity' in torture in UN report

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/canada-accused-complicity-torture-un-report-223907740.html

Really, Canada complicit in torture? How can that be, when our government redacted documents to conceal their complicity then were the first governing body in Canadian history to be found in contempt of parliament for refusing to allow the opposition access to the information ..... where's the proof EH.

Now we know why we were not elected to the UN Security Council. It certainly raises the spectre that Canada, or at least the Conservative Party, cannot be trusted.

If it were simply Afghans who fell victim to Canadian complicity we could plead ignorance as the Conservatives attempted to do by using the cover of security within transmittal's to redact proof however we inflicted torture, based on false information, on people we granted citizenship to.

As a foreigner would you really want to become a Canadian under this regime?

There is a pattern here that leaves a bad taste in ones mouth but rest assured that the government will ignore this report and try to cast a slanderous shadow over its authors and the UN.

It appears that the UN and much of the World sees us in a different light than we see ourselves.

  1. Bombing civilians in Libya hasn't helped our image much either.
