Duh. I have been saying for months that the rising dollar is a problem to manufacturing and exporting..... and this dolt is just coming to this realization?
Is this not the same man who told Canadians not to long ago that the high dollar should not have an effect on exports... the same man who along with Mark Carney wanted industry to spend their reserves ..... to follow the Conservative example??? Waste money.
Now he is admitting the dollar is a problem but, he can't do any thing about it.

Yes you can Bimbo Jimbo ... Stop raping our resources for your own benefit
It pains me say this but the problem is the "bitumen sands" and other resources that are pushing the dollar higher. What worries me most is that industry, in order to survive, will shift more and more manufacturing outside the country.... as the dollar escalates their buying power becomes greater. In turn it will be countries like China, India and Thailand that will be the purchasers of these resources and the suppliers of manufactured goods.
There is no net benefit to Canada only to the Harper regimes financiers. This is the same problem that has Faced the US manufacturing sector since 2001. As their dollar declines in the US I predict that they will return to an industrial nation albeit slowly.
If the imbalance continues we will see higher unemployment. Further to the resource expansion and sell off the rising dollar has benefited the Northern States with Canadians now permitted to spend more in the US while spending less at Canadian merchants.
Canada is a guppy on the World scene Stephen Harper and his henchmen have to stop selling us out for their personal gain.
You may have found allies..

"So the real story isn't merely that the Cons are lying - it's that they're lying in service to their tar-sands masters, and will say or do anything to ensure a continued flow of wealth from the Canadian public to oil barons."
