Excellent information about the Health Care Accord which Harper is allowing to expire on March 31st. There has been no effort to negotiate a new accord with the provinces and no real effort to maintain national standards by enforcing the Canada Health Act. This is not what Canadians want. The government has no mandate to do this because 86% of Canadians support public health care. "The federal government also is the legal guardian of national standards. Its Health minister is required to ensure that the provinces comply with The Canada Health Act. This includes preventing queue jumping, extra billing or charging user fees for medically necessary services."
