Comment on Trumpeter Swans in Burlington

I noticed that at least two of the birds carried the yellow plastic tags indicating their connection to the successful Wye Marsh reintroduction breeding programme. Nice story.
Cheers, EB

Thanks Ed..... My cousin Marlene's husband Brian Pomfret is an independent biologist, formerly with the Botanical Gardens here in Burlington, he now travels Canada at the request of various governments banding birds and helping corporations to control migrating birds that have become a hazard. When we had Robins nesting in our hanging basket at the front door he came over and banded the chicks.

It was quite entertaining to have them nest there as the basket was at eye level and mom would sit on the eggs and eye us as we exited the door perhaps 2 feet from the nest. Neither parent gave us a hard time.
