Comment. Ripped off by the OLG (April,19)

I agree totally with you, Bob - the machines at the casinos do not pay. When
they do, it's not much so most players put it back into the machines and eventually walk away empty handed.

I have a different approach now, if I am up, I quit and walk away. I don't
play in anticipation for the big win - because it rarely comes, if ever.
My game is blackjack, however we go to Mohawk and Flambourgh
because my wife claims she's not lucky at the Brantford casino ... where
they have the table games. So I play the machines and
loose. When one can loose $20 in 60 seconds or less - that's not called
entertainment - it's called RIP-OFF. And that is the reason why we do not
go any more.

There are exceptions though..... they have to pay me to play at the casino and that is exactly what they do.

I have beat them at their own game - the con game that is.
Every so often, they send me an email, stating there is a free $5 slot play waiting for me,
They trying to 'prime my wallet'. So we go. I insert my $5 free-play into the machine and play with their money only. They have it set up so that one CAN NOT immediately cash out the free-play ticket on the first spin, however, one can cash out the winnings on the free-play and eventually the entire amount.

I have cashed out $20 - $25 on these free-play tickets. This is not much but,
it's a free lunch. Sometimes I have cashed out only $2 only.
Now, earlier this Month, I guess they didn't think I was leaving them enough money, so they sent me
a larger chunk of bait - a $10 free-play (in 2 $5 tickets).

So we went back. I played on a 2 cent machine and eventually cashed out just under $75.00.
Thank you very much and don't forget to send me another free-play ticket.

Thanks Joe Y..... Pat and I do the Casino Niagara trip. They have a great offer where they provide a bus, we catch it on Prospect by the mall, for 12 dollars. Included in the bus fare is either $10 dollars in tokens or a free luncheon buffet. We opt for the buffet as both of us can eat for a family of four.... each LOL. I devour their prime rib roast. Last time we went Pat took a page from your book and came home with 200 dollars taken from various machines but that is a rare happening for sure.

I just purchased a ticket and was very annoyed to find the same thing. It's the obvious ploys by the OLG to play psychological games with the players. My previous favorite is in number matching games such as Cash In, they will always give numbers that are within one of your 'lucky number'. This tripler scam is the lowest yet!!

Thanks AchachyA ..... the Cash In and other number match games seem fair for me as well however it is the 3 dollar crossword that I enjoy the most. The fact that I won 10,000 dollars a year ago might just be a contributing factor.
