I didn't have to see the holocaust to believe it happened....... I didn't have to see Hiroshima or Nagasaki to believe the effects of the Atom bomb...... I didn't have to see Chernobyl to believe the effect of a nuclear explosion....
"I don't have to see the oil sands to believe they are having an adverse effect on the climate."
While the oil sands are not the sole cause and affect to the extreme climate the World is experiencing they are part of the problem. I am not advocating the shutdown of the sands project but rather believe in placing the blame for the negativity and resistance of the eco-community directly on the shoulders of the oil sands greatest supporter.... Stephen Harper.
Harpers failure to enact rather than eliminate environmental restrictions against the oil industry has increased their profits while fueling the reckless abandonment of Canada's ecosystem.
Neglecting and silencing the science and the visible effects on our air and water will only serve industry while increasing health problems amongst the inhabitants, particularly those who rely on the water from the rivers and streams that are being poisoned.
Stephen Harper is a dinosaur oblivious to his own inevitable extinction.
He is stuck in the dark ages of autocratic kings and queens as he tries to dictate policy, not just to his surfs but to the World at large. What he fails to realize is that his voice is being heard by men and women far more intelligent than he and his desire to be a respected World figure in history is rapidly being replaced by ridicule.
