MP calls way family treated 'disgusting'

Nikolovska was officially given word on Monday morning - the same day of her husband's funeral - by the Canadian embassy in Vienna she would not be able to come to Canada.

Alexis Pavlich, press secretary for Alexander, redirected The Star's inquiries Tuesday on what happened between Comartin and the minister's office or reasons for the visa denial.

"We are sorry to hear about the death of Mr. Serra and offer condolences to his family," said Sonia Lesage, media relations adviser for Citizenship and Immigration Canada's western region.
