There are misunderstandings circulating throughout Canada that the Quebec Provincial government wants Canadian taxpayers to cover the cost of the Champlain Bridge.
The truth of the matter is that the Champlain and Jacques Cartier bridges are the property of the federal government and ultimately the responsibility of the Canadian taxpayer.
It is interesting to note that while the Harper government refuses to set up a committee or enquiry into their actions with regard to the Wright/Duffy affair or any other questionable action by the acting government they are quick to investigate the previous governments actions.
Following is a report released, conveniently at 10:30 pm Friday evening, that relates to the investigation of contractual improprieties for the Jacques Cartier Bridge deck replacement in 2000 - 2002.
