Why Federal interference?

Ottawa trying to block Corrections head from testifying

Federal lawyers are trying to quash a summons from the coroner in the Ashley Smith inquest ordering Corrections Canada’s Commissioner to testify.

Federal government lawyers are trying to quash a coroner’s summons directing Corrections Canada’s Commissioner Don Head to appear before the Ashley Smith inquest.

Head was appointed commissioner overseeing Canada’s federal prisons on June 27, 2008. Prior to that he had been senior deputy commissioner since 2002. Smith died in her prison cell in Kitchener Oct. 19, 2007 of self-asphyxiation after tying a ligature around her neck.

In 2012 the Harper Gov't spent $500Million of our tax dollars on legal fees fighting FN, Veterans, Council of Canadians. God knows how much they spent on legal fees in 2013 so far. Using hundreds of millions of tax dollars to keep the truth from Canadians (while spending millions of tax dollars to lie to us). That's Harper's "transparency" for you!
