The smoking gun and the hatching of a lie - PM Trudeau grabs Conservative MP Gord Brown

Setting the stage

Was "elbowgate" staged or simply good fortune for a desparate opposition?

We know both the NDP and Conservatives were against Bill C-14 and were trying to delay the vote. That is a given.

First of all we are told that MP Brown was blocked by the NDP scrum but as we can see there was no need for him to be there since the left side is unobstructed.

Then we are told he was there to talk to the NDP house whip, and the dance begins, MP Leslie walks away toward the Speaker of the house, the dance continues.

Then Prime Minister Trudeau gets out of his seat and heads toward the scrum. He reaches in and takes MP Browns arm by the elbow (we are told) as he attempts to extract MP Brown from the NDP scrum he is accused of elbowing MP Brosseau of the NDP.. She turns in what appears to be anguish.

As PM Trudeau extracts MP Brown from the scrum we can see MP Brosseau lean to the left and speak to Tom Mulcair she no longer appears in distress. The camera then switches to the other end.

When the camera switches back again we see Tom Mulcair speaking with MP Brosseau the MP Brosseau begins to walk away. She does not appear to be in distress. We see PM Trudeau begin to exit his caucus (upper left). Again Mulcair says something to MP Brosseau. As MP Brosseau exits the NDP caucus seats she looks back over her shoulder as if checking how close the Prime Minister is and then she disapears off camera.

Staged. Certainly the attempt to delay the vote and MP Brown's feigned blockage were.

Assault, Hell no. Definitely no attempt to injure nor no attempt to strike is evident in the video.

Opportunistic, Definitely.

The NDP are hurting badly in the polls as the Liberals continue to rate high. Both opposition parties are desparate at this point and rather than concentrate on building confidence in their respective party they are resorting to disgusting tactics of trying to discredit the present government in the hopes of bringing down their ratings.

Fortunately the Canadian people are much more astute than the NDP and Conservatives give them credit for. Voters are fed up with being played what they want is a reason to vote for a candidate/party NOT a reason to vote against a candidate/party.

It comes down to validity not negativity since too much negativity only depresses a voter.

Canadians are fed up with the charade and the posturing without substance so please stop acting like children and get on with running the country..... not ruining it.

What this video does not show

Mp Gord Brown schmoozing with the NDP prior to the line dancing with the NDP caucus

12 seconds before the above photo MP Brown is seen (top centre) looking around the NDP MP toward the Speaker

MP Brosseau is so traumatized by the elbow she remains on the floor of the HoC talking to Tom Mulcair for some 30 seconds before scurrying out. As she leaves she looks back to see where the Prime Minister is.

MP Brosseau leans in to talk to MP Mulcair.

MP Brosseau is so traumatized that while in conversation with Tom Mulcair she has the presence of mind to look toward where the Prime Minister is sitting and smile.

Traumatized or hatching the plot???

The get away.... checking where the Prime Minister is

Comment on FaceBook

Marilyn Maxwell I feel that Brian Lilly conveniently leaves out some important points to the time allocation issue.

1) The Supreme Court of Canada has requested that this Bill 14 be dealt with by June 6th.

2) The debate was being drawn out by the Opposition to waste time.

3) This debate has been going on for 10 years.

4) The Conservatives sat on this doing nothing for over 18 months.

5) Doctors and medical staff need guidelines.

6) No legalization is written in stone this Bill 14 can be amended as needed.

7)Terminally ill patients are suffering while these NDP MPs play games for partisan reasons.

8) This was a deliberate action to delay the vote, actually showing disrespect for Democracy, disrespect for our Parliament and the Supreme Court ruling.

All this was not mentioned as the consequences of the NDP crowding the PM rather than making way with respect for his Office.

I suspect the Conservative Whip was involved as well and from the video it could have been the Whip's elbow that pushed MP Brosseau rather than the PM,even though he is taking the blame.

All these MPs should have been in their seats, non of this would have happened but it was deliberately instigated to cause trouble.

The strain the Opposition has put on PM Justin Trudeau by their constant delay in debates and Committees, pulling a fast one on a impromptu vote when they knew most of the Liberal party was at a funeral and a Science Conference, verbal attacks about his wife and and family.

Where is Mulcair's apology for his screaming abuse and name calling of the PM?

Where is the apology from MP Brosseau for ignoring the rules in not being in her seat and not making way for the PM as any decent person would have done?

More of my Point of view
