Why gas goes up

Why is the price of oil dropping ($86.00/barrel) and the price
at the pumps going up and up and up ??

On Saturday, Nov., 10th, I filled up my gas tank at a pioneer Gas Station
in Burlington (Ontario) for $1.19.6 / litre.
On Sunday, Nov., 11th, I was absolutely shocked to see that the price of
gas had spiked - again- across most Cities in Canada, including Burlington.
What the hell happened ??? - again - let's see....what excuse this time...was it
becauce of Rememberence Day on Sunday ?? Any excuse or reason, right ?
Well, I am mad as hell, as I know every other motorist is too !!! And I am sick and
tired of hearing people say, "oh well, what can ya do" Protest !! Do something !!
Oh yeah, that's not the worst of it.....the HST (included) that I had to pay on my fill-up was
$5.98 !! ....whose slimmy pocket does that go into ???...anothert story for another day,
I supose.
So, why did gas prices spike overnight - but not just overnight....it seems,
at randon.... at any time they "feel" like doing it. We have all heard the
millions of "reasons" - but when they "don't know" -- well, that's just
down right insulting !!! Stop telling us lies !!!
Take a listen below.
Dan McTeague (his web site; www.tomorrow'sgaspricestoday.com ) said he can't
see a reason for the increase, other than a money grab. He and his web site calls
the hike "absurd and unjustified"
Roger McKnight, a senior petroleum advisor with Oshawa-based energy consultants,
En-Pro International, described the hike as "crazy", saying there is no reason for oil companies
to raise prices when the demand for is flat to negative.
“There is absolutely no reason for this price increase at this time, especially for gasoline, when the driving season is finished as of Labour Day,” McKnight said.
But another analyst who provides services to the industry offered a more generous interpretation for the price hikes. Jason Parent of Kent Marketing of London, Ontario says there are good reasons for the increase — and "sometimes you have to dig and scratch to find them."
Parent says wholesale prices have been rising over the last week and significantly so in the last few days, with several factors coming into play."one (factor) is the refineries that
were shut down because of the hurricane in the southern (United) States".
"They are back on line but that put a huge crimp in the supply which flows all the way up the Eastern Seaboard in the U.S. and into Canada."
Parent says there have also been refinery issues in the Detroit and Chicago areas, where there were planned shutdowns for various reasons, including maintenance.
"That's what's driven prices up recently — despite the fact that the price of crude has been relatively steady."

Well, I say....what another bunch of crap....... Oil Companies and Gas retailers are just protecting
their "profit margins" any way they can !!. Well what about ours ??.....our pay cheques
and pensions, that is. We try to protect them (pay cheques & pensions) but the Oil Companies and Government are simply stealing from us !!!!!!!!!!!!
...........stealing money out of our hard-earned pay cheques and pensions !!!!!!!!!
