Troubling times in America
For all those celebrating the actions of the special counsel, take note; this is a very dangerous time for our country. We are one “firing” away from a constitutional crisis. If Robert Mueller goes, all bets are off.
You have a president divorced from reality, a massive propaganda machine in Fox News brainwashing millions of Americans daily and a Congress that has the spine of a worm. From Vox:
“The fate of the investigation — and of the integrity of the American political process — will thus rest on the often frail shoulders of the handful of congressional Republicans who’ve made it clear that they understand the threat Trump poses to the country but have never yet managed to conduct effective, coordinated political action to counter the threat. If they want to forestall disaster, that needs to change. And it needs to happen fast, before Trump plunges us into a new round of crisis.”
The treasonous Albertan
In a memo called “Napping on NAFTA”, Harper criticized the government for insisting on key elements of a renegotiated NAFTA, like a fair deal for Canadian workers and modern environmental protections.
Harper also indicated that “it does not matter whether current American proposals are worse than what we have now,” suggesting that Canada should roll over and accept whatever Trump demands.
Harper even attacked Canada’s insistence that NAFTA include provisions on labour, gender, aboriginal and environmental issues.
This follows an event he attended with renowned Trump-supporter Newt Gingrich where he also threw Canada under the bus.

Hypocritical pigs of the Harper era of incompetence
EXCLUSIVE
Harper government partnered with industry group battling CRA over KPMG case
Minister touted 'collaboration' with CPA Canada as group readied to fight tax agency on principle
The Harper government forged a partnership with a major Canadian accounting association, formalizing it as an adviser to the Canada Revenue Agency, at the same time as the group sought to fight the CRA in court to shield the files of multimillionaires who had stashed money offshore.
Revenue Minister Kerry-Lynne Findlay trumpeted the alliance in November 2014 as a "new era of information and collaboration" between the Canada Revenue Agency and Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada.
CPA Canada represents and lobbies on behalf of most accounting firms in Canada, including KPMG, which the government was pursuing in courtat the time to obtain a list of wealthy clients enrolled in an offshore tax scheme in the Isle of Man.
Stupidity: A conservative affliction
Ontario's dumbest political scandal got an update this week, roughly six weeks after it should have been quickly addressed and put to bed.
On Sept. 13, Ontario Progressive Conservative Leader Patrick Brown misspoke: he said Premier Kathleen Wynne would be standing trial in a bribery case in Sudbury, Ont. ("when she stands trial," he said), when she was, in fact, testifying as a witness in a case involving two top Liberal staffers. (A judge dismissed the charges Tuesday for lack of evidence.)
Team Wynne, surely desperate for any piece of information that could deflect from what was then two ongoing corruption cases, latched onto the comment and threatened to sue the opposition leader for defamation unless he retracted his statement.

I want to clarify some misinformation that has been spreading through the media regarding a new tax on people with Type 1 diabetes.
There hasn’t been ANY changes to the eligibility criteria for the Disability Tax Credit for Type 1 diabetics. No new law has been introduced or amended and the cases will continue to be reviewed on an individual basis, based on information provided by medical practitioners.
The eligibility requirements for the Disability Tax Credit can be found here;
Should you have any concerns regarding your application for the Disability Tax Credit, feel free to reach out to my office at 902-842-9763 and one of my staff will gladly answer any questions that you may have.Rodger Price

Moron Trump Wrecks His Own NAFTA Strategy By Admitting US Withdrawal Is Just A Negotiating Tactic
Trump privately admitted to Republican Senators that he really isn’t trying to kill NAFTA. His withdrawal of the US from the agreement is a negotiating tactic.
Inside US Trade reported:
President Trump told Republican senators in private on Tuesday he believes the U.S. must trigger a withdrawal from NAFTA to move Canada and Mexico to negotiate more seriously, adding that they should “trust” him to get a better deal, multiple senators told Inside U.S. Trade.
Another senator said, “the president described it as a tactic to move things along that could result in withdrawal but may be designed to just result in negotiating.”
Instead of sitting down with Mexico and Canada and negotiating a new agreement, Trump is going to put US trade at risk by gambling that he will be able to get a better deal if he withdraws from NAFTA. Of course, now that Canada and Mexico know that Trump really isn’t looking to leave, they have no incentive to make a better deal. If Trump screws this up, Canada and Mexico will make deals with other countries, and the US will get nothing. Bluffing withdrawal from an agreement doesn’t work if everybody knows that you are bluffing.
From Father Marc
"Discernment" was the word that came to Pope Francis's mind when, during his interview with Jesuit journals, he was asked what part of Ignatian spirituality most influenced his ministry as Pope. Here's a prayer for discernment from Pedro Arrupe, SJ, superior general of the Society of Jesus from 1965-1983. Since his election, Pope Francis has twice prayed at Father Arrupe's tomb in Rome.

Prayer of Pedro Arrupe, SJ
Grant me, O Lord,
to see everything now with new eyes,
to discern and test the spirits that help me read
the signs of the times,
to relish the things that are yours,
and to communicate them to others.
Give me the clarity of understanding
that you gave Ignatius.
Amen.

Butch the Rooster
Sarah was in the fertilized egg business. She had several hundred young pullets and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs. She kept records and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced.
This took a lot of time, so she bought some tiny bells and attached them to her roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so she could tell from a distance which rooster was performing. Now, she could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report just by listening to the bells.
Sarah's favourite rooster, old Butch, was a fine specimen but, this morning, she noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all! When she went to investigate, she saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover.
To Sarah's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job, and walk on to the next one.
Sarah was so proud of old Butch, she entered him in a show and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.
The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the "No Bell Piece Prize", they also awarded him the "Pulletsurprise" as well.
Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on the planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention?
Vote carefully in the next election: You can't always hear the bells.
Thanks Norman
1955 - 62 Years Ago...Comments made in the year 1955!
I'll tell you one thing, if things keep going the way they are, it’s going to be impossible to buy a week’s groceries for $10.00.
Have you seen the new cars coming out next year?
It won't be long before $1,000.00 will only buy a used one.
If cigarettes keep going up in price, I'm going to quit; 20 cents a pack is ridiculous.
Did you hear the post office is thinking about charging 7 cents just to mail a letter.
If they raise the minimum wage to $1.00, nobody will be able to hire outside help at the store.
When I first started driving, who would have thought gas would someday cost more than 20 cents a gallon.
Guess we'd be better off leaving the car in the garage.
Guess we'd be better off leaving the car in the garage.
I read the other day where some scientist thinks it's possible to put a man on the moon by the end of the century.
They even have some fellows they call astronauts preparing for it down in Texas ..
Did you see where some baseball player just signed a contract for $50,000 a year just to play ball?
It wouldn't surprise me if someday they'll be making more than the President.
I never thought I'd see the day all our kitchen appliances would be electric.
They're even making electric typewriters now.
It's too bad things are so tough nowadays. I see where a few married women are having to work to make ends meet.
It won't be long before young couples are going to have to hire someone to watch their kids so they can both work.
I'm afraid the Volkswagen car is going to open the door to a whole lot of foreign business.
Thank goodness I won't live to see the day when the Government takes half our income in taxes.
I sometimes wonder if we are electing the best people to government.
The fast food restaurant is convenient for a quick meal, but I seriously doubt they will ever catch on.
There is no sense going on short trips anymore for a weekend. It costs nearly $2.00 a night to stay in a motel.
No one can afford to be sick anymore. At $15.00 a day in the hospital, it's too rich for my blood.
Thanks Randy

The inhumanity of America
"MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!?"
.
Mary Turner (died 19 May 1918) was a married black woman and mother of two who was lynched by a white mob in Lowndes County, Georgia, for having spoken out in protest! According to investigator Walter F. White of the NAACP, Mary Turner was tied and hung upside down by the ankles, her clothes soaked with gasoline, and burned from her body. Her belly was slit open with a knife like those used "in splitting hogs. Her "unborn babe" fell to the ground and gave "two feeble cries. Its head was crushed by a member of the mob with his heel, and the crowd shot hundreds of bullets into Turner's body.
