A more honest assessment would have been the disclaimer: “This message is for the benefit of the Conservative Party of Canada; paid for by the taxpayer; and, we don’t give a flying fuddle-duddle what parliament thinks about it.”
The bottom line is this kind of taxpayer-funded messaging is unfair, undemocratic and should be illegal.
