The Senate is not the problem - The Prime Minister is

Yes Canada.... the Senate is not the problem the problem falls directly on the Prime Minister, both past and present, it is he who nominates these idiots and criminals based on their political views.

If the truth be told Prime Ministers learned early on that they could nominate Senators to the Senate to ensure their political views are carried out. Stephen Harper has used this political patronage forum to an extreme. He is now paying the price of his own ignorance.

In Stephen Harper's lust for power he failed to properly vet those he nominated to the Senate. Power and control were more important than ability and the Harper government has taken this to the extreme.

Contrary to public opinion the Senate does have a purpose however it is the Prime Ministers who, over the centuries, have failed to recognize that the appointments should be vetted and based on intelligence, ability and political law..... not on political allegiance.

The responsibility of the Senate is to ensure the bills are, at best, error free and will pass the scrutiny of The Supreme Court of Canada. It is ever apparent that Stephen Harper does not care about Canada but rather about his political agenda ..... to screw the Liberals.

Canadians do NOT want an American style Senate where ignorance abounds and bills fail to pass based on party affiliation

 

So my word of warning, to all parties, is to find a means to vet Senators, by all parties, before they are installed in the Senate and STOP political patronage before you destroy the country.

 

Senators should have legal, as well as the public interest at heart


Both levels of government, the house and the Senate, are accountable to the people this insistence on secrecy and not providing full accountability must stop.

Stephen Harper ran on a platform of accountability yet he and his puppets fail to be accountable. This is NOT about Patrick Brazeau or Mike Duffy .... this is the failure of Stephen Harper ..... as Prime Minister it is he who appointed these failures.... it is he who should be accountable
