Canada's Unemployment Rate Unchanged As Country Loses 11,000 Jobs

OTTAWA -- Statistics Canada says the country's unemployment rate in August remained unchanged from the previous month at 7.0 per cent.

The agency said 11,000 net jobs were lost between July and August of this year.

Statistics Canada says employment increased by 81,000 jobs compared to a year ago, mostly in part-time work.
