Is this the RCMP's new mandate? Terrorizing Canadians at the behest of Corporations and the HarperCons

Lesslie Askin, 71, shocked to be deemed a Kinder Morgan terror threat

A 71-year-old B.C. grandmother was shocked to learn her recent research for an upcoming National Energy Board hearing triggered a national security investigation.

Lesslie Askin says that on Aug. 3, she photographed Kinder Morgan’s aging storage tanks at the base of Burnaby Mountain.

Ten days later, she learned she was a terror suspect.

"There's a knock on the door, and there are two RCMP officers at the door," she told CBC News. "The chap who asked all the questions [said he] was an investigator with the national security division."

Askin says she was taking the photographs for her presentation at the upcoming National Energy Board hearings into Kinder Morgan’s proposed Trans Mountain Pipeline.

The RCMP are a Federal investigative and community police group who should NOT be  terrorizing Canadian citizens at the request of corporate Canada.

Would they, when receiving a tip about someone photographing a bank, knock on their door and confront them as to the reasons? No, they would quietly investigate and if there was no reason for concern they would file the information.

In this instance they have placed a 71 year old woman on a terrorism list and intimidated her at the request of a Corporation.

IS THIS THE CANADA WE WANT?
