A true story of extreme kindness - In True Spirit of Christmas

One of my FaceBook friends, Jodie Petrak Ray, posted the following story of extreme kindness from her many FB friends. Jodie has given me permission to post her story for which I am eternally grateful.

Jodies story.....

♥ On Dec 12th 1987 I married a wonderful man named James who gave my family stability, love, compassion and everything we needed in life. He helped me raise the kids and they all turned out to be wonderful adults. We had a Christmas Miracle the year he passed and I want to share.

In 2006 we lost our home to a flood and everything in it and found out he had cancer all in the same week. It was a really bad time. In 2008 he was losing his battle. In Dec of that year we decided no Christmas and that we had to devote everything to caring for him. This saddened him even more. On our anniversary that year he never woke up for the whole day. He was in a deep sleep the hospice said. I spent most the night online with my online friends. I had a league in Pogo at the time with my online friends. They gave me a lil roast, a party that night. It was a miracle. As the party ended the host said...when all is done..go to your email. I did and there was the biggest miracle . They...
had sent me, thru paypal, a large sum of money and said, give Jim and the family a good Christmas.

Right after that Jim woke up. I shared the miracle with him and he smiled so big, we cried. I went out shopping the next day and didnt stop til everyone had something. Came home and sat and shared every gift with Jim and let him know "Yes Jim there is a Santa".....He was so happy. For the next couple of days it kept him going strong. He was like a lil kid couldn't wait to tell the kids. Well he passed that following week but the miracle of it all is that online friends are real. They gave him that one last Christmas. They gave him a perfect smile and warm heart. He never made it to the real Christmas but that day as they opened their gifts I knew he was with us. Happy Anniversary Jim...I know you're still with us. U are very missed. ♥

Thank you Jodie..... a true testament to the kindness of mankind and the rallying of childhood or social media friends when one of their own require support.
