Manufacturing in Canada has for decades relied on the dollar being lower than that of the "greenback".

Brad Wall says the comments are divisive..... only if you let them

So who is right? As I see it both are right even though they are both wrong.
Alberta and the "oil sands" do not control the dollar..... market speculators do and that is fueled by "resources" ...... yes folks that includes such things as oil, gold, diamonds, potash and yes Brad .... weapons grade uranium labeled as fuel for nuclear plants.
Manufacturing in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick must find a way to market their products with the dollar at par with the "greenback" or die. American corporations are "Patriotic" to the ...
the wife bought me a CANADA hoodie at "The Bay" (a Canadian Icon now owned by Americans) with the Olympic logo on the sleeve but the label reads ........
are you ready
Made in China
Gee people isn't that one of the countries that the Harper government wants to spend billions on F-35 fighters to protect Canada from? The country that he and Brad Wall tentatively agreed to sell weapons grade uranium to? Who the hell else, besides the Russians, would Canada need to defend itself against...... and I haven't heard either of them threatening us.... we don't have too many enemies, other than the occasional extremist or Conservative, and it doesn't take an F-35 to neutralize them.
I may not agree with the "Tar Sands", "Oil Sands" or whatever moniker you wish to give them but I do believe they are essential to Alberta and to Canada. What I have a problem with is our Federal Government being in collusion with the Oil Industry to maximize profits while minimizing environmental controls.
The Conservative "Omnibus Bill", a nice way of saying "Hijacker Bill" is intended to destroy any thought the World might have that Canada gives a s#!t for the environment.
I don't give a damn what anyone says ..... environmental controls will and have created an industry unto itself since the sixties and will continue to do so if lobbyist buy Conservative loyalty for the Environmental Industry in the same manner as the Oil Industry has.
In adanaC ..... we're going backwards
