Comment on my posting "Merry Christmas" is not a hate crime

The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms gives every Canadian "freedom of conscience and religion" and "freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression". No one is preventing you from believing in and celebrating the imaginary iron age deity of your choice. Canada is a secular democracy, not a theocracy.

Hmmmm I sense a touch of sarcasm here.... makes one wonder what "Stone Age" idol the writer bows down to.

Thanks Accita for setting the record straight..... you do realize that the "Charter of Rights" applies to new Canadians..... those of us who have been here since the 1640's do not qualify ...

In my humble opinion that is what bothers us most .... you can complain to the Human Rights Commission but attitudes like yours prevent the founding Canadians from doing so
