Lunch Atop A Skyscraper: The Story Behind The 1932 Photo | 100 Photos | ...

I get nervous watching this!

Building the Empire State Building -- most reports say that 5 died on the project and another says 14-- they averaged 1 floor per day--they did do 14 floors in 10 days one time
It started on March 1930 and the outside and steel completed in Sept 1930 and the interior completed May 1931-- cost was $40,948,000.00 of which $24,718,000.00 was the building-- the land was the rest.  Imagine if OSHA was in business back then!
This is one of the best videos I’ve seen of working men during the Great Depression.
This is the story behind a photograph that was titled “Lunch Atop A Skyscraper”.

Cheers Randy
