A polite letter to Rona Ambrose

The Hon. Rona Ambrose MP
Leader of the Official Opposition
House of Commons
Ottawa, Ontario

19 March 2016
Dear Madam,
Canadians want and deserve a credible opposition to hold the Liberal Government accountable, and you have been entrusted with leading that opposition. Here are a couple of suggestions that may, in my most humble opinion, help you rise to the occasion:
1. Please stop blaming Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s four-month-old government for the “mountain of debt.” All in Canada not suffering from long-term amnesia are aware it was your ex-boss former Prime Minister Stephen Harper who accumulated that debt.
2. Please stop claiming that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s four-month-old government is “working against Canadian jobs.” Nobody, barring the aforementioned sufferers of long-term amnesia, is ever going to forget how your government threw hundreds of thousands of Canadians out of work by increasing threefold the number of temporary foreign workers brought into Canada and turned a blind eye as employers gleefully abused those vulnerable workers.
You may notice a common theme emerging here. People in this country, other than those suffering from long-term amnesia, remember well the atrocities committed by your Conservative Party against the people and the environment in Canada. Blaming PM Trudeau for your past mistakes and misdeeds may not be the best way to go about restoring people’s trust in your party.
A more positive step would be for you to tender an apology to all people of Canada for the destruction wrought upon this great nation by the dark decade of Conservative rule. While it may be an alien concept to members of the Conservative Party of Canada, let me remind you that saying “sorry” is a very Canadian thing to do.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Rohana Rezel
