*** SAD NEWS ***

Dear friends,

It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that I convey the unfortunate news that our good and cherished friend, John, has died this day, Sunday, the 14th of February.

John's brother, Keith, and I drove from Montreal to Ottawa yesterday to see John one last time. John's son had called to urge us to make the planned trip sooner than later because he seemed to be slipping fast.

We had the privileged to sit with John and let him know how much we cared for him. Perhaps it was fitting that the house was filled with family : his two sons, grandchildren, brother Keith (Ken earlier), nieces, friends and of course, Diane, keeping everyone organized and fed. Just as he would have had it be.

We lost a good friend today and a true 'son of Greenfield Park'.

Thanks Cliff.... Our heart felt sympathies to Johns family and friends. John was a great friend to all Parkers and a long time contributor to the history of the Park as well as a devoted reader and contributor to the various blogs.
