Harper calls Calgary Canada's 'greatest' city - So What?

Oh dear, oh dear! What is happening to me? For those of you who read my rants you know I am a Harper denier, so why am I defending his right to call Calgary Canada's greatest city? It's simple, Calgary is his home town, they elected him as an MP and he was playing to his constituency. What's wrong with that?

I believe Greenfield Park is the greatest town in Canada and that Burlington Ontario is the greatest city in Canada, I spent my teen years in 'The Park' and live in Burlington, that is my belief just like it is Stephen Harper's to praise Calgary.

Stephen Harper grew up in the Toronto area where he was a young Liberal for a short period. He was a triangular peg trying to fit in a square hole, for those of you who don't understand the analogy, he was one corner shy of a full cube. Calgary accepted him.

The fact that he is Prime Minister does not alter those facts, at the time of his speech he was attending the greatest frontier spectacle in the World, the 'Calgary Stampede', at that time and place Calgary was the greatest city in the World.... never mind Canada.

This does not mean that I am going over to the dark side, all it means is that we all have our favourite city or town and regardless of your position in life you have the right to express that opinion.
