Give your head a shake Rob Ford and Jason Kenney. These two incompetent fools are going to come up with a plan to curb shootings in the Big Smoke. Ban people who have been convicted of gun crimes from living in Toronto.... and to what end?
Rather than attack the source of the problem Rob Ford wants to make it another municipalities responsibility while Jason Kenney is hanging the blame sign on immigrants. Both are too mindless individuals who, rather than spend money to improve and search out the source of illegal guns, will knock down low cost housing projects forcing individuals to relocate.
This is NOT an immigration problem it is the availability of illegal guns as well as an economic problem. To curb the problem takes money however the Conservatives would rather cut costs by reducing budgets to the Borders, RCMP and Provincial governments.
Their answer is longer jail terms, which only hardens prisoners, or to banish immigrants and those who have served their time. In other words there is no such thing as rehabilitation only continued punishment under this Conservative Government.... so why shouldn't the parolee re offend?
At best you can reduce the number of individuals who commit crimes by investing in them at a young age, you can never be successful with everyone so lets try and redirect some. Jason Kenney would like you to believe that by restricting or banishing certain individuals from our shores that HE can solve all our problems.
A concerted attack on illegal hand guns at the border and in municipalities will reduce the problem but never eliminate it. Fewer available guns means higher prices.... higher prices means fewer criminals have the resources to obtain them... it is economics 101.
Legal hand gun owners have more than sufficient restrictions imposed on their handling and transporting of their weapons lets not attack them further. For the record I don't own a gun of any kind so I don't have a vested interest in legally obtained weapons however I do have a vested interest in those that are illegally obtained.
