Rude awakening for right wing fools - First Nations are "NOT" the violators

For years now I have been trying to explain to the right wing fools that protesters march to show their discontent with policy they DO NOT come to cause destruction. There certainly are those factions who are considered "terrorists" and commit criminal acts in the name of protest but they are a fringe group who do their dirty deeds in a clandestine manner in an attempt to remain anonymous.

When a protest is disrupted by violence it is caused by outside influences and not by the protesters. Such is the case of the car burnings in New Brunswick this past week. The dirty deed was done by a police informant who was commissioned to disrupt the FN protesters.

The G20 in Toronto is another prime example of government using rowdies to disrupt legitimate protest and cast a shadow of doubt in the minds of fools who believe that what the media writes is fact.

Few, if any, of the G20 rowdies have been penalized for their actions.

Now the right wing are being brainwashed to believe that there is more violence in the wind ... http://o.canada.com/news/report-warns-of-catastrophic-aboriginal-uprising/

Here are comments on the above story made by First Nations people....

Anonymous1 Aboriginal uprising...hmmm...warns....making it sound so ominous for Natives to finally assert ourselves in our homeland....The catastrophe is that Canadians have bought into the fallacy of the Imaginary Indian....YET throughout history it isn't the Natives that warred and want war! WE've been victims and long suffering to keep the peace for too long...AND because of this and all that has transpired over the long patient struggle, the struggle to bear the weight of oppression, the struggle to speak in a gentle way to help the settler population understand that it is a responsibility to care for the well being of the land because the land and water sustains ALL life...They dont' have to be afraid of the Aboriginals...Those White people with their greed and "live for today" lifestyle and "the end is worth the means" attitude is scarier than any Indian you'll ever meet!! Yes, We Stand Within Reason. If someone fears getting their toes stepped on..that they should back up. If today they were to wipe out or imprison every Indian..those whites would still be stuck with their fears...only it would focus on something else...Cuz its within themselves. The monster is within themselves. Natives are not the monsters.

  • Anonymous2 It is not just a 'white person' live for today issue we're dealing with. All races today have far too little respect for our land, air and water. The government is trying to exploit resources on and under First Nations territories saying they are allowed to UNTIL land claims are settled. Well, that's like someone walking into your home, going into your spare room and basement, then to start hauling your stuff out, saying it's theirs until you can prove otherwise. And, the icing on their cake is that you have to prove it to them, based on their standards, which will never allow you to prove it. You're right, Prin, greed has long plagued mankind, which is why we historically formed councils and governments to begin with. They were chosen for their reason, wisdom and respect. It was never intended that the governing persons would collude to sell out the very people that they were selected and elected to represent.

  • Anonymous2 There is a huge difference between being warred upon, and full scale self-defense. As long as the government keeps our peoples divided along social class and racial lines it can, and will win. The days of the talk of 'them and us' have long since come and gone. Survival of our nation, and preserving its ability to support us far into the future is of utmost importance. Providing purpose and prosperity for Canadians has never been more important, but the people charged with that responsibility have locked the cats in the closet and let rodents destroy at will.
  • Anonymous1 but people don't really react..cuz they are safe for now....This frightens me like Ipperwash frightened me....like OKA frightened me...because the neighbors of these communities began to join in the beatings...throwing stones at vehicles carrying native elders and children...its terrifying to know that you have NO ONE to turn to when this goes down...A woman in Ipperwash calling from a payphone to reach out for help and tells the operator that they are shooting at them!!...the operator tells her to 'call the police!" and she tells the Operator "it is the police!! Help us Please!!" Who do we have? Who have we ever had to help us??
  • Anonymous2 It terrifies me too Prin...I remember my childhood and the horrors many endured...

  • Protesters to face 'brute force of the state,' chief warns

    http://ca.news.yahoo.com/protesters-face-brute-force-state-chief-warns-155002613.html

At a rally and march in downtown Vancouver Friday, Grand Chief Stewart Phillip of the Union of B.C. Indian Chiefs denounced the political powers that he said are ultimately behind the escalation of the confrontation in New Brunswick.

"Without question, governments are trying to send a very harsh message that if you stand up and oppose any of these projects, you are going to face the brute force of the state."
Phillip also said the clash between police and members of the Elsipogtog First Nation and their supporters, who were opposing shale gas exploration near their homes, is just the beginning.

"People are mobilizing right across this country right now, and this will not dissipate," Phillip said. "And the Harper government is obsessive in their efforts to become a world petro-power, and he will stop at nothing."
