Is Canadian Sovereignty really under attack?

The Harper government keeps telling Canadians that they must protect Canadian sovereignty in the north. To do this they insist on purchasing a fleet of over inflated ice breakers to patrol and protect us. They also insist on purchasing F-35 bombers to protect Canadian Sovereignty in Canada's north (yes I believe they will go ahead with the F-35 purchase) despite any opposition to this over priced, problem plagued, bomber.

Why? Who is threatening our Northern sovereignty? Certainly not our allies, who have legitimate claims to the northern seas, nor from the Russians and Chinese who also have claims. Any and all claims are now before the World Court, an independent body, that will divvy up the northern waters to settle any and all disputes.

It is up to saner men to resolve the claims without conflict.

Question: So who is a threat to Canadian sovereignty?

Answer: The Ayatollah of Alberta, Stephen Harper.

“If Ottawa giveth, then Ottawa can taketh away… This is one more reason why Westerners, but Albertans in particular, need to think hard about their future in this country. After sober reflection, Albertans should decide that it is time to seek a new relationship with Canada. …Canada appears content to become a second-tier socialistic country, boasting ever more loudly about its economy and social services to mask its second-rate status, led by a second-world strongman appropriately suited for the task …Having hit a wall, the next logical step is not to bang our heads against it. It is to take the bricks and begin building another home – a stronger and much more autonomous Alberta. It is time to look at Quebec and to learn. What Albertans should take from this example is to become “maitres chez nous”. (Stephen Harper, National Post, December 8, 2000)

As we see in the daily papers and on the news networks Ayatollah Harper is pulling out all the stops and sending his buffoon Sheik Joe Oliver around the World to insult and ridicule scientists and politicians worldwide in an attempt to sell the Alberta Tar Sands.

And for who's benefit? Ayatollah Harper would like Canadians to believe that ultimately it is for Canada's benefit but in reality it is for Alberta's benefit.

That is all well and good, contrary to what the Ayatollah would like Albertans to believe Canadians in the East are not jealous of their prosperity and while there is some tax benefit to the Nation it is not critical to the countries existence as it is to Alberta.

There are, in fact, only two rivalries between Eastern and Western Canada and that is....... the CFL and the NFL the only time oil is discussed lately is when the Ayatollah brings up the subject.

So.... is Ayatollah Harper the Marketing Manager for the Alberta Oil Sands (I'll play the marketing name game too) or the Prime Minister of Canada? As either, Ayatollah Harper has been a total bust. He has sent out his Minister's Baird, Kent and Oliver to do nothing but aggravate the world and get our allies to lobby against the Sands.

Eastern Canada needs jobs not oil rhetoric yet the focus of Ayatollah Harper is on resources and resources only. Unemployment is stagnant and has been for the last 4 years yet he continues to spend tax dollars on self promotion rather than being pro-active.

Do Canadians really need to pay for "Action Plan ad's that have done nothing or to pay for 10 percenters that abuse the opposition?

How can anyone trust someone who once said.......

"I can state categorically that I would not be a candidate in any future leadership contest ... The decision to run again would have meant that I was making politics my career ... I've been at this particular game for over a decade and on a personal level I feel it's time to get some broader experience outside Parliament. Parliament is already dysfunctional ... The last thing that Parliament needs is to be filled with people who have never done anything but partisan politics." May 10, 1996

The country did very well financially prior to the 2006 election, it was only after the Ayatollah became Prime Minister that the sands became critical to Canada as a nation.

The "oil sands" belong to Alberta not Canada, and Premier Alison Redford has done an admirable job of promoting and defending them, but bottom line is they are not a Federal responsibility and the Conservatives, while supporting Alberta, should step back and allow Alberta to sell themselves as an international oil producer.

Ayatollah Harper must extract his head from his anal cavity and focus on Canada as a Country rather than Alberta as a sovereign Nation.

Canada is the sum of all Provinces and Territories

So who amongst them are our enemies?

In 2007, a Russian research ship placed a Russian flag on the bottom of the Arctic Ocean near the North Pole in a symbolic gesture. And last year, China joined Russia, Denmark and Canada and the United States in the competition, sending its first icebreaker ship through the Arctic — even though China doesn't abut Arctic territory.

Economic rivalries in the Arctic have made the area a burgeoning security priority. Arctic nations are eyeing sending additional military forces to the region to maintain stability on the seas and protect against maritime crime, according to a report last month by the Congressional Research Service.

Russia is planning to train and equip a brigade of military troops specifically for Arctic warfare, and Canada is revitalizing its Arctic fleet with $33 billion to build 28 ships over the next 30 years.

Norway, Denmark and the U.S. are all expanding military command centres and operations within the Arctic.

The U.S. Navy is nearing the end of a five-year plan, set in 2009, to plot out what path it will take in the Arctic. That potentially will include policing waterways and interdicting pirates as it does in warmer waters, officials said, although it's still not clear how often that may be needed. And the Coast Guard's small Arctic ice-breaking fleet is getting a much-needed boost: One of its three ships is about to be relaunched after being docked for major repairs. Another ship is already fully operational and the third is out of service, officials said.

Next year, the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard will draw up plans to have an enduring presence in the Arctic and be able to run search and rescue operations there, Navy chief Adm. Jonathan Greenert said in congressional testimony last month.

Corporate greed is fueling the competition for the North's resources not sovereignty.

Canada, Norway and Denmark combined could not take on any one of the other 3
