Canadians don't know what's best for Canada

Apparently the Harper government doesn't believe the public can make an intelligent and informed decision on the Nexen takeover by CNOOC the National oil company of China. Canadians probably could if the Harper Secret Service would give Canadians honest and factual data to make that decision.

Sorry fellow Canadians but you are to stupid.

I am not included in your grouping since I have already made my decision based on the lack of information that I have been given. My decision is a bit emotional as well as a sense of National Pride. The emotional side of me says that China can't be trusted, they refuse to acknowledge Canadian citizenship for their ex-patriots yet they want to own Canadian strategic oil fields. And yes oil is a strategic resource, without it F-35's can't protect our lost sovereignty.  Their human rights record and abuse of their citizens is a matter of record.

The National Pride side of me says you can buy our resources but we, Canadians, control it. A good example of flexing ones pride and need to control is Alison Redfords protectionist approach to Christy Clarks demands for a piece of the oil for allowing the Northern Gateway Pipeline to cross British Columbia.

There is a "chill over the west" and it ain't the weather it is "possession vs environment"
