Canada's Action Plan - Outsource

Just when I thought Canadians had heard it all from this government CTV announces that Canada will be outsourcing the new cover for our passports.... to the Neterlands

The Netherlands is, as the spooks like to say, a friendly. That aside Canada has an employment problem that is not under control... so why outsource? Price be damned.

For the last three decades the contract belonged to a Cornwall, Ontario company called Columbia Finishing Mills. Officials from the company told CTV News that they would now have to lay off up to 25 per cent of their staff.

The Harper government is spending millions upon millions of taxpayers dollars on self promotion trying to convince Canadains they are working toward reducing unemployment when instead they are creating more unemployed.... it is shameful.

CTV News is reporting that Canadian Bank Note, an Ottawa-based company that has been given the federal contract to produce Canadian passport covers, is outsourcing the job to a company in the Netherlands.

If Canadian Bank Note is unable to produce the covers themselves, in Canada by Canadians,  then the contract should be pulled.... end of story....

  1. Check the strip ads at the bottom of the Environment Canada Weather Office site.

The government can place its ads free while the opposition couldn't even offer to pay for such a placement.

This contributes further to their democracy deficit by promoting more public cynicism.

    Cheers, EB
