Another well thought out plan by Diane Finley

On Friday the 5th of October Stephen Harper quietly announced that the Conservatives would cease punishing the most vulnerable of those on UI. They will no longer "claw back" their benefits because they have a part time job that supplements their EI.

At the time Diane Finley introduced the changes intelligent Canadians across the county said the plan would not work ..... and it didn't

Now she plans on making funding available to small business to assist in the employment of the disabled ..... a great idea, but again not well thought out .....

My cousins son has a learning disability brought on by over medication for epilepsy. Curtis receives a  disability pension however, if he works more than 8 hours the government "claws back" his pension. It is not worth his working 8 hours as there is no financial benefit after expenses.... it is cheaper to stay home.

The majority of disabled want to work and can be productive in the workplace but we keep putting restrictions on them. It is time to treat them in the same way you would treat an abled person.
