So let's see if I understand correctly..... a few weeks ago Stats-Can reported that there are 3000 fewer people incarcerated.... the Canadian Government took credit for the reduction saying their tough on crime legislation was working although it hasn't been implemented long enough to judge
Now they are taking credit for keeping gangs off the street..... how does that work??? Most prisoners were incarcerated "before" the changes even become law.
Kerry-Lynne Findlay, parliamentary secretary to the justice minister, called the rise in numbers "good news" because the gang members are behind bars instead of on the street. She dismissed any link to overcrowded prison conditions.
"It means our law and order initiatives are working. We have specifically targeted gang members in several pieces of legislation," she told Power & Politics host Evan Solomon.

Don't they realize these prisoners who join gangs are going to be released on the street before long. The fact that the Canadian Governments "Tough on Crime Bill" does not apply to those already charged, tried and sentenced means nothing to these idiots in the PMO.
I would love to know what "audience of fools" they are addressing with their idiotic rhetoric.
