Conservatives in Canada have been attempting to pull the same tricks on the voters here by calling for the Ethics Commissioner to investigate all kinds of frivolous things as a distraction. Why? Because they know that by doing so their base and the non attentive Canadian will only hear the initial conversation and not the results of the findings.
Both the Republicans and the Conservative Party of Canada know that many voters want to believe the worst and are not interested in facts or in researching the truth.
The following is a good example of how a voter can be duped by the constant spin and misdirection when a party attaches a catch phrase to a policy of another party. By phrasing the Affordable Care Act as Obamacare many Americans turned against Obamacare and considered it too expensive, troublesome and wanted it stopped..... the spin worked
