US security warnings fall on deaf ears

A resounding.... "I can't heaaar you" was heard coming from the Prime Ministers Office after the Americans warned of the security threat from doing business with China's Huawei and ZTE tele-communications companies.

In a scathing report released Monday in Washington, the congressional committee branded Huawei a threat to U.S. national security, and urged American telecommunications companies using the Chinese firm to “find other vendors.”

Ray Boisvert, who until recently was assistant deputy director of intelligence for Canada’s spy agency, told CBC News: “The threat comes down to…can a company that manufactures hardware embed certain codes that would allow them to back-door a lot of information that goes through the network?

”I have seen it hands-on through my own experience. It is true.”

Harper insists he will not allow the US to influence his decision ... that was then ... this is now

Harper may say he will not be influenced by the Americans but it appears he is now going to invoke an exclusion agaist Huawei on the new telecommunication spy system....

Unfortunately Alberta, Sakatchewan and Ontario have already opened their doors to cyber espionage by Huawei and ZTE....
