Typical harper insensitivity

Why would Venezuela expect anything other than insensitive thoughtless remarks from Stephen Harper? Canadians have come to accept his ignorance and that of his ministers after listening to it for years.

We, as a people, have seen our democracy erode under Harper's dictatorship so why would it surprise us when he ignores Hugo Chavez family and supporters in his backhanded statement "without condolences".

It is quite simple, he has a heart of stone.

For the past 7 years it has been very difficult for Canadians to separate the policies of Hugo Harper from those of Stephen Chavez. I really get confused as to what the difference truly is between the two politicians. Hugo Harper/Stephen Chavez and his party have attacked seniors, the unemployed, the middle class and welfare recipients while slowly turning Canada into a police state where rehabilitation is not a consideration.

Politicians, Stephen Harper in particular, have suckled at the teat of Mother Canada for decades and have sucked her dry. Now they tell the middle and lower income earners to tighten their belts and save to supplement their future pensions .... HOW & WHY? ... so they can tax this money or deduct it from their government pension.

Not one of these politicians have suggested that they, themselves, should cut back their salary or expenses during this period of austerity ..... HELL NO....  they keep suckling at the teat of taxpayers.

Many of these politicians, like Jim Flaherty and Stephen Harper, will be eligible for two pensions. Jim Flaherty will suckle at the teat of Ontarians and Canadians while Stephen Harper will receive two pensions, one as a Reform MP and a second as a Conservative.

So what did Hugo Chavez do to Stephen Harper? Chavez may have silenced his opposition but then so does Stephen Harper. Chavez may have silenced his governmental officials but then so does Stephen Harper. Chavez may have criminalized everything but then so has Stephen Harper.

The biggest similarity between the two is that they are both oil barons whose biggest client is the US of A.

And finally Chavez like Stephen Harper did not pay attention to the needs of his people.

Really Canada is there a difference between the Prime Minister of a Democratic Country silencing its critics and the head of a Communist  Country silencing its critics?

  1. Again we are delivered the exclusive American point of view.
It is helpful for anyone wanting to hear the Latin American view
to consult the TeleSur item "fifty facts about Chavez"

He was clearly the people's dictator and a respected member within the regional alliance CELAC.
A devout practicing Christian and Socialist he typically won internationally verified elections with between 55% and 60% of the vote.
