Pondering that item had me thinking that since millions of innocent civilians around the world have been killed by the US military since the end of WW2 and at the current annual average of domestic murder barely one million Americans have been murdered at home during that time that therefore the editorial makes some sense especially if one follows the pen through the hands of the various presidents over that period. I take no solace in drawing that conclusion however. A society steeped in violence is neither a good host nor a good neighbour. EB
