The Press

A Harley Biker riding by the zoo in Vancouver sees a little girl leaning into a lion's cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the collar of her jacket and tries pulling her inside the cage, under the eyes of her screaming parents.

The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch.

Whimpering from the pain the lion let go of the girl and the biker returns her to her parents, who thank him endlessly. A reporter, standing close by, has watched the whole event and approaches the Harley rider saying, 'Sir, this is the most gallant and brave thing I've ever seen in my whole life.'

The Harley rider replies, 'Why, it was nothing, I just saw this little kid in danger and did the right thing.'
The reporter says, 'Well, this will not go unnoticed. I'm a journalist and this story will be on the front page of tomorrows newspaper... So, could you please tell me a little bit about yourself?

The biker humbly replies, I’m on vacation right now but I’m an off duty RCMP officer.

The following morning the biker buys a newspaper to see if he had indeed  made the front page and to his surprise, he has.

OFF DUTY MOUNTIE ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT
AND STEALS HIS LUNCH

...and THAT pretty much sums up the media's approach to the news these days..
Thanks Penny
