First photo ever taken in Canada

Were it not for some curious academics at England's Newcastle  University, the
first photo taken in Canada might still be unknown to us. This photo was taken
in 1840, shot by business man Hugh Lee Pattinson at Niagara Falls. Pattinson was
a student of Daguerre, the founder of the early photographical form aptly known
as the daguerreotype. It took a few moments (or 20: as that's how long it takes
for the scene to affix itself on the copper plate) to snap this shot.
