Personally I didn't expect any other result from Canada's so called National Police Farce. The very fact that they are no longer serving Canadians but rather the PMO is discouraging. But what really bothers me is that they bungled the entire investigation right from day one.
Any non conservative could see clearly that there was a lack of interest and effort put forward. Their integrity is compromised by their being forced to seek permission from the government prior to speaking to the media or the opposition.
When the news broke and they were asked to investigate they lollygagged and failed to obtain the full evidence and search warrants to obtain the evidence. Instead they said please, and expected everyone to comply.
In a similar scenario involving Joe Average, warrants would be obtained and a hoard of officers would raid offices and residences of all parties. In gestapo like fashion 9 to 12 RCMP officers would confront Joe Average, tazer him, pounce on him and handcuff him.
They would then parade him in front of the media, beat their chest and declare how diligent they were in doing their duty....... so WHAT THE FU@% happened here????
If they had done everything they possibly could within the law I could likely accept their decision not to pursue prosecution however their failure to defend the law will also clear Mike Duffy of any wrong doing as well.
The joke is on you CANADA
the following From I Politics
The Wright affair: The RCMP falls off its horse … again
Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s former chief of staff secretly cut a personal cheque for more than $90,000 for a sitting senator to cover disputed expenses that the senator repeatedly said — cross-his-heart-and-hope-to-die — that he had already paid back out of his own, overburdened pocket.
And, according to the Inspector Clouseaus at the RCMP — who apparently spent nearly a year looking into what appeared to be a covert, politically expedient hush-money scheme between the most powerful Harper-appointed, non-elected politico and a Harper-appointed senator — none of it amounts to so much as a summary offence.
Stripped of the embroidery, that’s precisely what the RCMP wants you and me to believe.
