I sometimes read canoe.ca and can easily tell that they are conservative backed news source. Nothing in their columns about Duffy or Harper caucus meeting. Maybe I'm just reading to early in the day.
Here's their line-up
- One dead in floatplane crash in B.C.
- Canadian killed in escalating violence in Iraq
- Mountie claims she was dragged through manure, sexually assaulted by colleagues
- London, Ont., sex offender escapes, again
- Teen suicide may be contagious: Study
- Lightning more deadly than twisters in Canada: Forecaster
- Judge dismisses HD Mining court challenge by unions
- Girl, 11, at wheel in deadly accident
- Gay marriage opponent kills himself in cathedral
- Pope performs exorcism? Vatican denies video footage
- Osama bin Laden death photos to remain secret
- Woman says she's too pretty for work
- Whole neighborhoods razed by Oklahoma tornado
- Jodi Arias urges Arizona jury to spare her death penalty
- Bangladesh panel to recommend life in prison over building collapse
- Parents turn to Internet to help daughter charged with sex with girl minor
Thanks Ivan.... I think if one were to do an ownership search on canoe they would likely find that it was a part of the Quebecor empire as is evidenced by the papers listed at the bottom.
I have always been disgusted by the lack of independence of the media and their unabashed support of one party or the other. Many of the blog readers wrongly assume that I am partisan to one party however there is only one party with a majority, there is only one party that has redacted documents, there is only one party that has prorogued parliament (twice) there is only one party that is attempting to cover up illegal senate activities..... so what can say about the other parties? They do not have a majority nor the opportunity to show how incompetent they are.
Ignoring a problem by not addressing it won't make it go away.
Harper's address to caucus was nothing more than political self promotion rather than a constructive attempt to resolve a real problem. It does raise many other questions and I wonder if this fiasco does not fall right into their plans to abolish the senate, after all, Harpers idea of a nominated senate with term limits appears to be a total failure like all his other ideas.
So please Canada, how would an elected senate be any different? They must first change the senate rules so that Senators are not insulated from prosecution or dismissal before making any other changes.
