First of all I have had an ongoing problem with my right arm, The problem has been there for some 50 plus years and has progressively gotten worse. While I have visited the doctor several times we have never really pursued a remedy. Lately I have had several excruciatingly painful periods, some times at night and other times when I walk.... I know .... why would my arm ache when I walk?
Well last week I received a notice from my doctor that I was due for a colonoscopy so I decided to kill two birds with one stone, get a consultation for the arm and set a date for some doctoral loving.
The good doctor, upon entering the room, asked "so Bob, what brings you here today"?
Thinking I would lend a little levity to the situation I said, "well Brian I am in desperate need of a ground up restoration, new wheels, my pushrod reinforced and my exhaust pipe inspected". I thought it was funny but he just looked at me with a quizzical expression.
That pretty well sums up the start of the week.
Today I went to Service Ontario, since I have given up my drivers license I need official identification so Pat suggested that I get a new medicare card while I am there. Off we went. I went in while Pat waited in the car..... no line up .... great .... the lady calls me up to the counter and I explain that I need official ID with my address etc. I also need to replace my old medicare card since it is in pieces. The lady says, "do you have ID with your address on it"? I say "well no, thats why I'm here". she says "I'm sorry but I can't give you a medicare card without proof of address". "Really, what am I to do"?
Are you ready for her reply.... "I'll take the information for your ID card then you take this paperwork home and when your ID comes in in about 4 weeks come back and we will do the medicare card" ..... seriously ..... I can get official ID without anything other than my passport, that does not show my address but I need the official ID to get a medicare card because I don't have official ID.
