Settling into retirement.

 

 

I took early retirement - a few days before my 63 rd birthday.
I have been retired for just over a year now - these are the

changes that I never thought would happen.

I use to shave every day when I was working, now I go

2 -3 without shaving.

In my younger days when I gained weight, I would go on

a diet. Now, I just buy a larger shirt.

When I worked, I had a nice wardrobe. Now, I have been

wearing 2 pairs of jeans all winter, alternating on wash day.

When I worked, my shirts had to be perfect - any small

stain or wrinkles and it would go into the wash.

Now, if there's a small food stain on my shirt or it's

wrinkled - I can wear it one more time.

When I go into a store, I enjoy talking with any of the

staff. They only say a few words, because they do not have

the time to talk -they are WORKING.

At my last oil change, my mechanic suggested a higher grade

oil with more additives for my older car. Now I take additives

(vitamins) as I am getting older.

I still love every minute of retirement. I can do what I want,

when I want. No, let me re-phrase that.... my wife tells me

WHEN, I can do what I want, when I want.
