There's an Elephant in the House of Commons
How opportunistic is the announcement that same sex divorce is not legal for marriages performed in Canada just as the Liberal Party is having their National Convention. The attempt to undermine the convention by using American political tactics leaves a bad taste in the mouths of Canadians.
The Reform attitude is alive and well within the Conservative Party.
This announcement only proves that their fear of the Liberals is far greater than that of the NDP.
Do not make the determination that I am a Liberal however, you may make the assumption that I am not a fan of despicable politicing. These people are constantly misleading and blatantly lying to misdirect the voter because they know that lies travel faster and further than the truth. Even when they correct their misinformation they know it will go nowhere.
The same sex marriage law came into effect in 2005, the Conservatives were elected in 2006, they also enticed people from foreign countries to come to Canada to marry. By giving people the belief that they were able to marry in Canada without informing them of the countries residency requirements or informing them of international law shows a failure by Canada to meet it's legal obligations.
In my humble opinion this makes Canada liable under International Law.
