Royal Bank

Prime Minister Harper walks into a Royal Bank to cash a cheque. As he approaches the cashier he says, "Good morning, Ma'am, could you please cash this cheque for me?"

Cashier:"It would be my pleasure sir. Could you please show me your ID?"

Harper:"Truthfully, I did not bring my ID with me as I didn't think there was any need to. I am Prime Minister Harper, the Prime Minister of CANADA !!!!"

Cashier:"Yes sir, I know who you are, but with all the regulations and monitoring of the banks because of impostors and forgers and requirements of the CIDC legislation, etc., I must insist on seeing ID."

Harper:   Just ask anyone here at the bank who I am and they will tell you. Everybody knows who I am."

Cashier: "I am sorry, Mr. Prime Minister, but these are the bank rules and I must follow them."

Harper:"I am urging you, please, to cash this cheque."

Cashier: "Look Mr. Prime Minister, here is an example of what we can do.

One day, Tiger Woods came into the bank without ID. To prove he was Tiger Woods he pulled out his putter and made a beautiful shot across the bank into a cup. With that shot we knew him to be Tiger Woods and cashed his cheque.

Another time, Andre Agassi came in without ID. He pulled out his tennis racket and made a fabulous shot whereas the tennis ball landed in my cup. With that shot we cashed his cheque.

So, Mr. Prime Minister, what can you do to prove that it is you, and only you, as the Prime Minister of Canada?"

Harper:     Harper stands there thinking, and thinking, and finally says, "Honestly, my mind is a total blank...there is nothing that comes to my mind. I can't think of a single thing. I have absolutely no idea what to do and I don't have a clue."

Cashier: "Will that be large or small bills, Mr. Prime Minister?

Thanks Cliff

Top Tories warn PM Harper against throwing ‘Wright under the bus,’ some Tories call Senate scandal ‘a delicious irony’

Top Conservatives are criticizing Prime Minister Stephen Harper for throwing his former chief of staff Nigel Wright “under the bus” by accusing him of “deception” and are warning that if Mr. Wright decided to return the fire, this strategy could backfire and prove to be disastrous.

“You don’t want to push somebody’s loyalty too far. Nigel is a man who values his reputation but, like any human, he will have a certain degree of tolerance. You don’t want to go beyond that point of tolerance,” said one top Conservative in an interview on not-for-attribution basis with The Hill Times last week.

In answering questions about the inappropriate $90,000 payment that Mr. Wright made to then-Conservative, and now Independent Senator Mike Duffy (Cavendish, P.E.I.) for his ineligible housing expenses without informing the Prime Minister, Mr. Harper (Calgary Southwest, Alta.) accused Mr. Wright of “deception” during the Question Period on Oct. 30.

“On our side, there is one person responsible for this deception and that person is Mr. Wright, by his own admission. For that reason, Mr. Wright no longer works for us. Mr. Duffy should not either,” said Mr. Harper.

Another Conservative source said that the Conservative caucus is split on this issue and the way it’s being handled.

Stephen Harper insists he could care less about the opinion of 60% of voting age Canadians

On Friday night Stephen Harper addressed the 3000 faithful, who like the rest of Canada, are confused and curious about the depth of his involvement in the Senate scandal.

He declared "loud and clear" that he did not care what the opposition, some 60% of Canadians, thought. Really you dolt. I am sure that even amongst your 30 percenters that there are many who don't believe you when you say you knew nothing about Nigel Wrights action.

You are the boss. Nigel Wright must clear all controversial decisions through the boss... you.

The fact that by your own admission you don't care what I or any of my friends may think is offensive. You make absolutely no attempt to win me over..... you are arrogant, psychotic and a disgrace to Canada.

Harper stood in the House of Commons and defended Pamela Wallins expenses and now is vilifying her..... all the Canadian people want is one honest word from Stephen Harper.

Vets angry as federal lawyers argue Ottawa has no social obligation to soldiers

At least one veterans group promises to campaign against the Harper Conservatives because of a stand taken by federal lawyers, who argue the country holds no extraordinary social obligation to ex-soldiers.

The lawyers, fighting a class-action lawsuit in British Columbia, asked a judge to dismiss the court action filed by injured Afghan veterans, saying Ottawa owes them nothing more than what they have already received under its controversial New Veterans Charter.

The stand drew an incendiary reaction from veterans advocates, who warned they are losing patience with the Harper government, which has made supporting the troops one of its political battle cries.
Mike Blais, president of Canadian Veterans Advocacy, told a Parliament Hill news conference that since the First World War, the federal government has recognized it has a "sacred obligation" to veterans — and that notion was abandoned with the adoption of the veterans charter by the Conservatives.

Comment on the CPC convention

I think a lot of us had hoped that the CPC convention would yield some watershed moments in the backlash against PMSH's contempt for Canadians. Not so much. And so Harper waltzes along, secure in his narcissistic belief that he is above the law, above the opinions of Canadians, and invincible.

Furthermore, he has come away with a gift. 3,000 of the most rabidly right-wing Canadians have given him a mandate to gut the CBC, attack the labour movement, resurrect the abortion debate, lock people up for longer (consecutive vs concurrent sentencing), open the door for private prisons, and entrench gun ownership, not to mention allowing for discrimination on religious grounds (as in, religious people are allowed to discriminate). Which leaves me wondering what irritation will prompt him to pull the plug on this sham of democracy and just have those who oppose him arrested.\

The convention totally played into his sociopathic and narcissism. He said he couldn't care less what they (presumably the 60+% of Canadians who did NOT vote for him) say. Parliament is going through the motions. But we all know that no matter how eloquent Mulcair is, he will get no real answers. Conservatives control the vote in the House, the Senate, and all the committees.

Apparently the GG views himself as a tool of the PM. So, if Harper decides to not call an election in 2015, then what? I honestly cannot see any recourse. He will control the Supreme Court (courtesy of the most recent omnibill). Sorry for being a downer here. I am just mulling it over while watching the train wreck of the Ford brothers on radio this afternoon. We are in a handbasket and the path is downhill...\

Thanks Norlaine

Sent from my email Sunday evening.....

Dear Senator Braley,

I am writing to you to express my extreme disappointment with how the Conservative Party of Canada and their appointed Senators are handling the so called Senate Scandal.

First of all it has not been proven to Canadians that a crime has been committed only that there is reason to suspect that there may have been misuse of taxpayer monies. As the self acclaimed "Law and Order" party I thought Conservatives would seek justice. Unfortunately the actions of the Senate and that of the Prime Minister is to seek "Political Revenge" without true justice.

Regardless of party affiliation I had the misguided impression that Senators were appointed to safeguard the people against injustice and to ensure bills present in the House of Commons were complete and without error.

I am shocked that any Senator would allow themselves to be "whipped" into punishing these 3 without allowing the courts to make its judicial decision.

Friday's Vehicle - 22 minute parody

Conservatives have sent Canada to "Hell in a Handbasket"

Sad, sad, sad. that is the only way to describe Canada and it's political position in the World.

Yes my friends Canada is in the political toilet. Stephen Harper and his Conservative Party have destroyed our reputation as a tolerant people, a people willing to accept the downtrodden, a people accepting of those less fortunate than us and a people tolerant of others misgivings.

This Senate fiasco has ballooned out of proportion, whether guilty of impropriety or not the Conservatives have made this a political issue. Had they shown professionalism at the outset the problem would have gone away..... but no ..... these people are not capable of running a country never mind that many failed their provinces..... ie; Jim Flaherty and Tony Clement.

This psychotic government has accused others of not being ready to lead..... Really Asshole .... are you joking..... look at yourself and your multiple failures

You discust me as does this Conservative government....

First of all the one Senator we all look at with the greatest disdain really does not deserve our anger but rather our sympathy and support in changing his lifestyle.... Patrick Brazeau has committed the least offence when it comes to resident abuse but he is held to a much higher standard than the other two.... why?

I suggest you look inward and evaluate your own reasons for persecuting him.... his other charges are not to be considered for this question.

You are fucking bigots..... there is no other response.

Your Slime Minister has changed his story time and again when it comes to the Duffmeister but that's OK to you... lies are fine when it is a white anglo saxon porker but if it is an aboriginal Canadian then damn they must be corrupt.

Who is the pig now?
