The ugliness of the Conservative Party of Canada has to stop

The fire in Fort McMurray Alberta is a tragedy of epic proportions, all of Canada is weeping for the people of Fort Mac.

Unfortunately Rona Ambrose and the CPC are single minded and ignoring the fact that all Canadians are concerned. They are ignoring the fact that all Provinces are contributing to the fight and to the relief.

During question period they are demanding why the Prime Minister is not there even though he has dispatched his Minister. They are complaining and posturing because the Prime Minister did not accept assistance from Russia, the US and Mexico.... despite the fact that Alberta's and Canada's own Emergency Services said that assistance was not necessary.

Rather than foster unity the Conservative Party continues to try to drive a wedge between Canadians and their followers. It is the ugliness of Republican politics and Rona Ambrose is Canada's Donald Trump.

Canada's disaster relief fund has been established for decades and was negotiated with the Provinces and Territories to provide up to 90% of infrastructure relief. That money comes from taxpayers in all walks of life from all Provinces.

Insurance companies will pay for the fire damage and personal losses. They will then raise rates to all Canadians across this great country to recover their losses.

Yes the lives of the people of Fort Mac have been put on hold but no lives were lost directly to this epic fire. Yes there were homes lost and memories destroyed but no loss of life was directly attributed to the fire.

There was a great loss of things but things can be replaced. The loss of family heirlooms and the memories they held can never be replaced. Pictures are easily replaced by family and friends or if they had been downloaded to the internet.

In the end their lives will be restored, six months or a year from now much of what happened will be a bad memory however there are those who sustained much mental anguish during their escape, those who drove through the inferno, many will suffer from PTSD.

Yes Canada these people suffered similar trauma as a soldier would and they, as well as their family must realize that fact.

The Conservative Party has to sit back and decide if it wishes to be a source of the problem or a part of the solution.
