In celebration of Her Majesty's 93rd birthday I decided to send her birthday wishes and a copy of a photo of Rosalyn from 1959 on the Royal train in Montreal.
As it happened the Queens 93rd coincided with the 60th anniversary of Rosalyn sending Her Majesty a congratulatory letter and Her Majesty responded with an invitation to Roslyn to meet with her on the Royal train.
As expected the acknowledgement came from the Queens secretary however acknowledgements are only sent with Her Majesty's approval. What I found comforting is that they/she acknowledged the contents of my letter.
My letter,
Her Majesty The Queen

Madam,
I write to you in celebration of your birthday and to express my appreciation and that of my sister Rosalyn for the kindness you extended to her 60 years ago this year. The attached photo was taken in 1959 of Rosalyn and your secretary on the Royal Train in Montreal Canada. You had invited her to have an audience in response to her letter of congratulations to yourself and the Duke.
Rosalyn has since passed however if I remember correctly her letter was in reference to the birth of your first grandchild, correct me if I am wrong. On the day the photo was taken your Majesty had taken ill and you were unavailable, still this photo has been displayed with great pride over the decades since it was taken. Our parents, Rosalyn and I have enjoyed the bragging rights you bestowed on her at that time.
There is an error in my letter to Her Majesty that, because I am Liberal and believe in truth and facts remains there unedited
