Do you know what this is ?

I was at an indoor Flea Market last weekend and saw this...
Wow !  I had completely forgotten about this thing.
It was my favorite 'outdoor' toy when I was a kid next to my 
bike of course.
 
I was completely thrilled to re-live this forgotten memory of
my childhood. A smudge pot....wow 
 
I thought it was Christmas day.........or is it ?
