On my surgeons urging I paid a visit to my GP to have my lungs x-rayed.
I must say my surgeon is a very devoted and talented individual but quite excitable. Every time I drop in to see him he starts talking a mile a minute and with his south Asian accent I am unable to understand everything he says.
He makes me feel like he is surprised to see that I am alive.
I relayed this feeling about him to my GP and how excited he gets when I walk into the room so we sat down and read his surgery report.... it immediately stated that they were surprised to find my pericardium sack bonded to my heart..... now I was aware of that finding but what I didn't know is that they had to perform a pericardiectomy or removal of the sack.
So the reality of it was that they performed two operations, first the removal of the sack and then the quadruple by-pass...... now I know why I was on the table for 7 hours and why Dr. Semalhago is surprised to see me alive.
And once again he was right in suggesting an x-ray.... I have pneumonia ..... nothing serious however I have to keep an eye on it should symptoms develop.
It's a bitch getting old but what the hell it is the best I have felt in nearly 5 years.
