Apparently we have a major immigration fraud problem in Canada and Jason Kenney made a public announcement promoting himself as being on top of this terrible problem.
Don't misunderstand me I am not making light of immigration fraud however I do take issue with the exaggeration of the problem by Minister Kenney and the media. First of all, we have 160,000 people per year, according to Minister Kenney, that take the oath of allegiance to Canada. The immigration department and RCMP have been investigating immigration fraud for 3 years that adds up to 480,000 new Canadians in the past 3 years according to the Minister of Immigration. During their investigation they have some 11,000 people who are under suspicion that is 1 in 48 or less than .005 percent of immigrants who are "under suspicion". So far the government has revoked 3100 plus citizenship's due to people not living in Canada.... that good people is 3 in every 480 successful applicants in the past 3 years.

The figures don't lie but politicians do. This does not require a public announcement but is really a spin or an attempt to divert the public attention from other more important issues such as foreign takeovers, economic failures or the closing of an Embassy whatever the distraction is, this government is full of Bushisms.
Immigration fraud is not a new phenominen that just happened to raise its ugly head since 2006, it has been happening for decades but lets be foolish and say it has occured in the last ten years that would mean we brought 1.6 million immigrants into the country and the Conservatives have caught up to 3100 ..... really is that an epidemic or a fear tactic?
