Getting closer to treason

Special Counsel sends wide-ranging request for documents to Justice Department

Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team investigating whether President Donald Trump sought to obstruct a federal inquiry into connections between his presidential campaign and Russian operatives has now directed the Justice Department to turn over a broad array of documents, ABC News has learned.

In particular, Mueller's investigators are keen to obtain emails related to the firing of FBIDirector James Comey and the earlier decision of Attorney General Jeff Sessions to recuse himself from the entire matter, according to a source who has not seen the specific request but was told about it.
Issued within the past month, the directive marks the special counsel's first records request to the Justice Department, and it means Mueller is now demanding documents from the department overseeing his investigation.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein played key roles in Comey's removal. And Sessions has since faced withering criticism from Trump over his recusal and Rosenstein's subsequent appointment of Mueller.
Mueller's investigators now seek not only communications between Justice Department officials themselves, but also any communications with White House counterparts, the source said. Before this request, investigators asked former senior Justice Department officials for information from their time at the department, ABC News was told.

Trump fits the KGB profile to a T

The KGB also distributed a secret personality questionnaire, advising case officers what to look for in a successful recruitment operation. In April 1985 this was updated for “prominent figures in the West.” The directorate’s aim was to draw the target “into some form of collaboration with us.” This could be “as an agent, or confidential or special or unofficial contact.”
The form demanded basic details—name, profession, family situation, and material circumstances. There were other questions, too: what was the likelihood that the “subject could come to power (occupy the post of president or prime minister)”? And an assessment of personality. For example: “Are pride, arrogance, egoism, ambition or vanity among subject’s natural characteristics?”
The most revealing section concerned kompromat. The document asked for: “Compromising information about subject, including illegal acts in financial and commercial affairs, intrigues, speculation, bribes, graft … and exploitation of his position to enrich himself.” Plus “any other information” that would compromise the subject before “the country’s authorities and the general public.” Naturally the KGB could exploit this by threatening “disclosure.”

SMART ASS

Two businessmen in Florida were sitting down for a
break in their soon-to-be new store. As yet, the store wasn't ready, with only a few shelves set up.

One said to the other, "I bet any minute now some senior is going to walk by, put his face to the window, and ask what we're selling."

No sooner were the words out of his mouth when, sure enough, a curious senior walked to the window, had a peek, and in a soft voice asked, "What are you sellin' here?"

One of the men replied sarcastically, "We're selling ass-holes."

Without skipping a beat, the old timer said, "Must be doing well...only two left."

It is an insult to Progressives everywhere to call these corrupt Reform a Cons (CPC) Tories

Disputed Tory nomination in Hamilton is now a criminal probe

Hamilton Police detectives are investigating unnamed Conservative officials in connection with the May 7 candidate election in the riding of Hamilton West-Ancaster-Dundas.
A police probe of a disputed Progressive Conservative nomination contest is now a criminal investigation into allegations of fraud.
Hamilton Police detectives are investigating unnamed Conservative officials in connection with the Tories’ May 7 candidate election in the riding of Hamilton West-Ancaster-Dundas.
Vikram Singh, a Hamilton lawyer and runner-up in the four-contestant nomination, filed a complaint with police last summer after he launched a civil action against the party alleging “wrongful insertion of false ballots.”
The criminal probe is separate from Singh’s ongoing civil litigation that named Ontario Conservative Leader Patrick Brown, party president Rick Dykstra, PC executive director Bob Stanley, and senior Brown aide Logan Bugeja.

Debunking the lies

3. Americans are obliged to honor the troops. They fight for your freedom. Actively opposing the war(s) dishonors their sacrifice.
This is simply illogical and another surefire way to justify perpetual war. Like the recent NFL national anthem debate, such rhetoric serves mostly as a distraction. First off, it’s abstract and absurd to argue that U.S. troops engaged in the sprawling “war on terror” are dying to secure American freedom. After all, these are wars of choice, “away-games” conducted offensively in distant lands, with dubious allies and motives. Furthermore, all this fighting, killing and dying receives scant public debate and is legally “sanctioned” by a 16-year-old congressional authorization.

Oil is dying

Earlier this month, Loblaw committed to have a fully electric fleet as part of the company's commitment to reduce its carbon footprint by 2030.
That would involve adding 350 zero-emission vehicles and more than 2,500 trailers to the fleet.
The Ontario-based grocer said removing diesel from its transport trucks and refrigerated trailers could reduce more than 94,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually, the equivalent of removing more than 20,000 cars from the road.
By 2030, Loblaw expects to have reduced emissions from electricity use by 35 per cent, transportation by 25 per cent, and refrigerants by 50 per cent.

Scheer: A Pig in a blue blanket

Here are some strange things new Conservative leader Andrew Scheer deleted from his website

Want to learn more about the new leader of the Conservative Party of Canada? Good luck.
Want to learn more about the new leader of the Conservative Party of Canada?
Good luck – if you try a simple Google search, it looks like you may have some trouble getting a straight story about Andrew Scheer.
Before the final results of the Conservative leadership vote were even announced last weekend, Scheer’s campaign quietly deleted the contents of andrewscheer.com, replacing the entire website with a smiling photo and the words “thank you.”
Another thing that vanished: every single policy Scheer said he’d advocate if he won the Conservative leadership.

What’s Scheer got to hide?
Well, the new leader is eager to present himself as moderate and middle-of-the-road – not “extreme,” as Scheer puts it.
Yet within minutes of winning the leadership, Canada’s Religious Right was declaring victory and taking credit for getting-out-the-vote and helping Scheer win.
Why would Canada’s biggest anti-abortion groups and other social conservative groups throw their support behind Scheer?
Just take a look at a few of the disturbing things that were deleted from Scheer’s website:
