Lion Tries to Eat Baby at Oregon Zoo

A lion at the Oregon Zoo apparently thought a little boy sitting outside of the exhibit would make a delicious treat. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that the baby was wearing a black-and-white striped outfit.

"We didn't even notice he looked like a zebra until someone told us that on Facebook," the child's mother, Heather Baltzor, told CNN affiliate KTVZ. "He looked like a tasty baby zebra."

No matter how much the lion pawed or lunged at the little guy, thick protective glass kept him safe. The child barely noticed what was happening. His mother says he was never frightened.

Zoo workers say lions often interact with young visitors and the glass barrier keeps them safe.

Memories of "The Hollingdrake Block"

Hi Bob and a Happy new Year to you, your family and your greater blog family. Seeing Normands pic of John Riley in the barbers chair in the Hollingdrake complex building brings back a lot of memories and reinforces the old adage of "everything old is new again". Back in the forties and fifties that building housed three Hollingdrake businesses. At the east end was Hollingdrakes meat Market, operated by George's father Eric and at the west end of the building was Hilda's restaurant operated by Eric's sister. In a part of the restaurant site Eric's brother "Bud" operated the only bona fide barbershop in town. Other people, namely Mr Biel cut peoples hair , but "Bud the Barber" owned the only official tonsorial parlour. Of particular note was the fact that all three families lived upstairs above the businesses,Bud and his family of four,Hilda and her son Neville and Eric ,his wife and five children. All in separate units. Not hard to understand why the building is still called the Hollingdrake complex. JMcC PS to Normand-- is Angelo's in the west end of the building?

Small Town

It was a small town and the patrolman was making his evening rounds. As he was checking a used car lot, he came upon two little old ladies sitting in a used car.
He stopped and asked them why they were sitting there in the car. Were they trying to steal it?

"Heavens no, we bought it."

"Then why don't you drive it away."

"We can't drive."

"Then why did you buy it?" he asked.

"We were told that if we bought a car here we'd get screwed ... so we're just waiting."

Unstoppable Virus - Especially if you were born before 1960

I thought you would want to know about this e-mail virus. Even the most advanced programs from Norton or McAfee cannot take care of this one. It appears to affect those who were born prior to 1960!!!

Symptoms:

1.. Causes you to send the same e-mail twice. Done that!
2. Causes you to send a blank e-mail ! That too!
3. Causes you to send e-mail to the wrong person.. yep!
4. Causes you to send it back to the person who sent it to you. Aha!
5. Causes you to forget to attach the attachment. Well darn!
6. Causes you to hit "SEND" before you've finished. Oh, no not again!
7. Causes you to hit "DELETE" instead of "SEND.." And I just hate that!
8. Causes you to hit "SEND" when you should "DELETE." Oh No!

IT IS CALLED THE "C-NILE VIRUS."

Hmmm.....Have I already sent this to you, or did you send it to me?

Thanks Kerry

Merry Christmas

I will be making a conscious effort to wish everyone
a Merry Christmas this year...
My way of saying that I am celebrating
the birth Of Jesus Christ.
So, I am asking my email buddies,
if you agree with me,
to please do the same.
And if you'll pass this on to
your email buddies, and so on...
maybe we can prevent one more
tradition from being lost in the sea of
"Political Correctness".

To One and All!!!
Merry Christmas~ Merry Christmas~Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas~
Merry Christmas~
