Because it’s 2016 Rona
Let the
Conservative whining and nay saying begin, after all the Liberals have been at
the helm of Canada since last year already and haven’t implemented all their
campaign promises.
Unfortunately the CPC does not work in real time;
they believe they lost to the Liberals a year ago rather than it being only 2
months. Trudeau took office November 5th 2015 the day Harper went in
to hiding, “because he worked so hard’. Reality check Rona et al that is, count
em, December (1 month), January (2nd month) now hold your fingers up
dumb ass. Oh by the way Rona the campaign was just as long for the NDP, Green
and Liberals as it was for Stephen Harper.
Just because
the Lib’s are doing the judicious thing by studying and planning before
implementing doesn’t mean projects are shelved, it simply means they are not
working by the CPC system of implement, make excuses, make irrational changes,
then hope everyone forgets.
We haven’t.
Canadians
haven’t forgotten how SH, you, the entire cabinet and the PMO mismanaged the
Canadian economy by cutting corporate tax revenues so sharply while putting all
your efforts into the Alberta sand fields, only to see oil prices collapse as a
result of your new found Saudi friends. You know the ones I mean, the ones that
you sold the Canadian Wheat Board to rather than a consortium of “Canadian”
farmers.
Canadians
haven’t forgotten how you and your entire party blamed others for your own
ineptness. First you blamed the food industry for not policing themselves after
you slashed inspectors. Then it was the rail industry who not only took the
blame for safety but for the lack of rail cars for the wheat industry all while
your party was sabotaging the Wheat Board.
No Rona, we
will not let you forget nor will we allow you and your venomous legion of spin doctor’s
twist the facts to suit yourselves. We are here for the long haul.

Lobbyists like opportunities with new government’s agenda, approach
A more consultative government that says it’s seeking the best information to fulfill its activist agenda means more opportunities for lobbyists, who have been busy reaching out to new ministers and MPs.
Lobbyists are adjusting from dealing with the Conservative government, whose top-down management style was driven by Stephen Harper’s Prime Minister’s Office. While this in some ways simplified government relations—lobbyists knew where to go to affect decisions—it also limited the avenues for impacting those decisions.
The Liberal government’s more consultative approach to policy making means there are more entry points to government and that more advice is being sought from stakeholders, lobbyists told The Hill Times.
“A consultative management style means that if you’re in the business of talking, you’re going to find people that are going to talk to you,” said one consultant lobbyist speaking on a not-for-attribution basis.
“I think they understand the value of consultation. I think that the GR community will benefit just because if you talk to enough people, soon enough you’re going to talk to a lobbyist.”
The government’s activist agenda—with promises ranging from marijuana legalization, to a new health accord, to a new environmental assessment process, to new relations with Indigenous Peoples, to investment in public transit and green infrastructure—creates more opportunities for stakeholders.

Finland’s government is drawing up plans to pay every citizen a basic income of euros 800 ($1,165) each month, scrapping benefits altogether.
Under proposals drafted by the Finnish Social Insurance Institution (Kela), the tax-free payments would replace all other benefit payments, and would be paid to all adults regardless of whether or not they receive any other income.
While it may sound counterintuitive, the basic income is intended to encourage more people back to work in Finland, where unemployment is at record levels. At present, many unemployed people would be worse off if they took on low-paid temporary jobs due to loss of welfare payments.
More than 10 per cent of Finland’s workforce is unemployed, rising to 22.7 per cent among younger workers.
A survey commissioned by Kela found that close to 70 per cent of the population favours the idea of a national basic income.
Detractors caution that a basic income would remove people’s incentive to work and lead to higher unemployment. Those in favour point to previous experiments where a basic income has been successfully trialled. The Canadian town of Dauphin experimented with a basic income guarantee in the Seventies and the results – both social and economic – were largely positive.
Juha Sipila, the Finnish prime minister, supports the idea, saying: “For me, a basic income means simplifying the social security system.”
The measure will cost Finland euros 46.7?billion per year. Kela’s proposals will be submitted in November 2016.

Law and information groups challenge ‘far reaching’ retroactive Conservative law
A retroactive Conservative law buried in last spring’s omnibus budget bill fundamentally undermines the rule of law and government access-to-information systems across Canada, according to court submissions in a paused constitutional challenge.
Twelve of Canada’s 13 provincial and territorial information commissioners, as well as the Criminal Lawyers’ Association, are seeking intervener status in the case, which challenges the former government’s unprecedented rewrite of an old law to get the RCMP and any other government official off the hook for illegally destroying long gun registry records.
The case, brought by federal information commissioner Suzanne Legault on behalf of individual Bill Clennett, is one of the messier legal challenges the new Liberal government will have to mop up in 2016.
The retrospective Conservative changes, backdated all the way to October 2011, served to short-circuit an active investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police into the government-backed actions of the RCMP. Repealing the changes, which became law last June, would presumably put the Mounties back under investigation.
“Should this legislation withstand this challenge, it would have far-reaching implications for criminal law principles,” the Criminal Lawyers’ Association says in its submission to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, calling the retroactive legal rewrite ground-breaking.

Did you ever wonder why there are no dead penguins on the ice in Antarctica ?

It is a known fact that the penguin is a very ritualistic bird which lives an extremely ordered and complex life. The penguin is very committed to its family and will mate for life, as well as maintain a form of compassionate contact with its offspring throughout its life.
If a penguin is found dead on the ice surface, other members of the family and social circle have been known to dig holes in the ice, using their vestigial wings and beaks, until the hole is deep enough for the dead bird to be rolled into, and buried.
The male penguins then gather in a circle around the fresh grave and sing:
